So OAK is this really cool store that’s always carried a good mix of designers that I’m into. I particularly really like what they’re doing with their namesake line. And I’d say that their upcoming SS15 collection is a perfect example of why. Slouchy and oversized wearable basics with an overall ease factor that makes everything so effortlessly hip. Seriously lovin’ it all. Most definitely heading over to one of their L.A. locations as soon as this collection drops.

Grey tops are one of my absolute weaknesses on the clothing front. My go-to basics. And in a closet very much overrun by them, this top that I’m wearing is always a nice change up from my everyday norm. So, I’m not really one to wear a lot of bright or shiny anything, but I’m admittedly addicted to this piece. That gold lamé skirt action on the bottom just does it for me. Always. And teamed up with those jeans I never seem to take off and some loafers, this is how I looked for an evening out with my man.

There’s a total heat wave going on in L.A. right now; with no end in sight. And so most of my summer gear is still out in full force. I’m pretty much living in tanks, shorts, and my go-to favorite sandals.  A combination that will probably stay in heavy rotation until things cool down. Yeah, fall hasn’t landed in my hood just yet. So for now, outfits like this are most definitely doing the trick.

Dries Van Noten SS15

Dries Van Noten SS15

Love Dries. He’s one of the few designers that actually gets this girl excited about trying out more prints and some color. And although his SS13 collection still hails as my favorite, there was so much that I loved about this one as well. To me, he continually masters the art of mixing fabrics and prints in a way that always works. A seamless execution using his signature silhouettes that he’s known for. Per usual, I’m more drawn to the shorts/pants combos, and this time was no exception. But I was really into it all. And the models strutting down that amazing carpet, created by Alexandra Kehayoglou, was just too good. Overall, such a cool mood.

A sweatshirt, my favorite pair of jeans ever, and some sneakers. A combination of wardrobe staples that you can easily mix in and match up with basically whatever. These seem to be the types of pieces that continually get the most play in my wardrobe. And pretty much always. Wore this little black and white mix out the other day when casual comfort was just very necessary.

So I honestly rarely wear dresses. I’d say maybe like a couple of times a year, if that. And mostly on those somewhat dressier occasions. But I’ve always had a thing for a good shirtdress. Probably because they just ooze that sorta laid back vibe that I’m so easily drawn to. Bought this piece months back when I was looking for something entirely different at Acne Studios downtown. It was kinda too good to pass up. So I didn’t. Looking forward to layering it up a little when the temps drop. Can’t freaking believe it’s already September.
